Welcome to the Cedro Peak races – choose your race distance 50K, marathon or half-marathon!
Held in April, the Cedro Peak area is a labyrinth of trails and double track minutes from Albuquerque and tucked in the small community of Tijeras. All race distances run through the Cibola National Forest and the Juan Tomas Open Space providing a challenging but generally non-technical run. The high desert landscape journeys through dense forest of ponderosa pine, juniper and pinon. Primarily rolling single track, there are several steep, but short climbs, and a few short sections of double track and dirt roads. Friendly enough to be a good starter race for those new to ultra-running and challenging enough for seasoned ultra-runners.
The Cedro Peak races are organized by volunteers. Each race distance is fully supported with plenty of aid stations. All distances share the same start and finish line at Oak Flat’s Picnic Ground.
This race supports the Tijeras Food Bank and the Wildlife West Nature Park.
