Desert AwakeningView Details and Register
April 23-26, 2013 (COURSE CLOSED)

Course Description: Though the nights are still cool, Desert Awakening provides bountiful chances to witness the desert of northern New Mexico awaken with a flourish. We will meander on our self-prescribed direction and set camp amongst the sandstone cliffs.

Tread to OrienteeringView Details and Register
April 29-May 3, 2013 (COURSE CLOSED)

Course Description: Beginning on established trail, map and compass skills are introduced and will guide you to camp two and three. This is an exploratory course that focuses on teaching orienteering basics.
Per Person Price: $460 – course limit of four.

Backpacking Basics and BeyondView Details and Register
May 14-18, 2013 (COURSE CLOSED)

Course Description: This three night backpacking exploration focuses on teaching you the skills to backpack on your own. We begin with an overview of equipment, before progressing to camp triangles and preparing meals on the backcountry stove.

Meadow, Forest and RockView Details and Register
June 9-12, 2013 (COURSE CLOSED)

Course Description: Summer is unfolding with vibrant color and delight during this two night hike. From start to finish, the views are changing and the sights and sounds part of the experience.

Reflection and GrowthView Details and Register
July 6-11, 2013 (TWO SPACES REMAINING)

Course Description: This course was changed to a four night offering in January 2013. One of our most challenging offerings, this hike has the glorious backdrop of the Continental Divide spine and incorporates time for personal reflection and growth through nature-based activities.
Per Person Price: $560 – course limit of three.

August 1-4, 2013 (TWO SPACES REMAINING)

Course Description: Some are afraid of the dark or of the sounds that go “bump” in the night. This two night introductory course will build your self-confidence of what beauty is available when traveling on foot.
Per Person Price: $355 – course limit of four.

VOC Ute Trail ProjectView Details and Register
August 10-16, 2013 (COURSE CLOSED)

Project Description: Grab your hard hat, a set of leather gloves, good hiking boots and prepare yourself for a week of pure trail joy. Tucked deep in the Weminuche Wilderness, this six night brush hauling, willow cutting, tread refurbishing, can you believe that view trail project is for anyone who wants to give back.
Per Person Price: no charge, donations to VOC – project limit of 12.

Sauntering Above the TreesView Details and Register
September 10-14, 2013 (COURSE CLOSED)

Course Description: A challenging hike, this three night backpacking adventure will take you to superb views of the Continental Divide, the edge of lakes and high alpine meadows.
Per Person Price: $460 – course limit of four.

San Juan GemView Details and Register
October 4-8, 2013

Course Description: The weather is cooling, the leaves are an array of colors and each morning is met with a hot cup of coffee as the sun breaks over the highest peaks. Fall is closing and snow may begin to lace the mountain uplifts as you listen for the bugle call of the elk.

An Outdoor Natural DiscoveryView Details and Register
October 11-14, 2013

Course Description: An excellent option for beginning backpackers and families, this two night offering is in northern New Mexico. The hike moseys along the recently restored creek, open grassy meadows and mixed conifer forests.
Per Person Price: $355 – course limit of four.
