This is a continuation of the volunteer effort from the fall of 2017 when volunteers cut out 64 trees. This trail has seen significant blow down – a continued problem from the spruce tree beetle infestation. We anticipate there might be another 100 that have fallen over the winter season.
We will be camping approximately 1.5-miles from the trailhead on both nights. Each day we will work to cut-out as many of the fallen trees as we are able while using cross-cut saws. Project will consist of two four person crews and a comfortable pace.
No prior trail experience is required but a good attitude is helpful. We are in desperate need of swampers (swampers clear brush and cut tree pieces after they are cut, keeping the work area and trail clear).
What is Provided: All in the field meals.
Project Limit: Limit of 8 individuals.

Although you are a project volunteer, there are costs associated with this offering. Your $50 registration fee assists with paying for permit fees, food, and tool needs.
We ask that you reserve your space only if you are going to attend. There is no refund for cancellation in this project. It is very difficult to fill recently vacated spaces, particularly within three weeks of the project start date when most cancellations tend to occur.
