In partnership with the Pagosa Area Trails Council this is the second of a four workshop series. Participate in one or all four workshop offerings.
Trail work experience should be a good experience. Volunteers look to the Crew Leader to share with them tools and tricks to make their experience positive and rewarding.
Poor leadership or organization can lessen the chance of a volunteer returning for another trail project. Volunteers who return are emulated by new volunteers – in practice of skills, in ethic of returning as a future volunteer.
This workshop will provide an overview of what to do before offering a project to the general public and what you can do to assure you will want to be a Crew Leader a second time and how to set the foundation for volunteers to return time and time again.
As a part of this workshop, you will be expected to participate in interactive challenges and scenario situations.
The Planning and Implementing a Trail Project workshop is broken into five components:
* Characteristics of an Effective Leader
* 10 Essentials
* Plan Ahead and Prepare
* Risk Management Plans
* Trailhead to Trailhead Leadership
Class Size: Limit of 10 – rate includes materials.
Reservations: Registration closed.
